Orlen is to launch its own network of parcel machines in the fall. At the same time, the company Ruch is developing cooperation with e-stores, whose customers will be able to order and collect parcels also at gas stations – the Płock oil company said in a press release.
Orlen emphasized that it is developing the courier services segment “actively using the potential of Ruch”, over which it took control in November 2020.
“The concern is building its own network of parcel machines, which will be available from autumn. At the same time, Ruch is developing cooperation with e-stores, whose customers will be able to order and collect parcels at vending machines, at Orlen stations, at Ruch points and at other partner points” – PKN Orlen reported.
Start of the “Orlen parcel” service
The concern explained that while preparing for the launch of the “Orlen Paczka” service, the company introduced many organizational and technological changes, including “significantly shortening the time of delivering parcels to the point to 1-2 days”. “The service will be made available in autumn, but RUCH is already developing cooperation with e-stores that will be able to offer their customers an attractive delivery offer” – emphasized PKN Orlen.
He added that “integration with ‘Orlen Paczka’ is simple, fast and will be available on e-commerce platforms in Poland”. As mentioned in the information, new business customers can take advantage of a special promotion to start the service. “In addition, Ruch also offers full commercial and marketing support as well as assistance in the integration process” – emphasized in the release.
According to PKN Orlen, the service of sending and collecting parcels will be available by the end of this year in over 5.5 thousand. points of the “Orlen Paczka” network. “In September, ‘Orlen Paczka’ vending machines will be installed in around 200 attractive locations, available 24 hours a day, in many Polish cities. In turn, by the end of 2022 their network will have nearly 2,000 devices” – the concern announced. He also mentioned that a mobile application will be available that will facilitate the collection of the parcel from the parcel machine.
In mid-August, PKN Orlen announced an initial inquiry regarding cooperation in acquiring locations for automatic parcel machines.
New devices from other companies

In turn, in October 2020, Poczta Polska announced that it intends to make 2,000 external parcel machines available by 2022. The company announced that this year it is to provide 500 external vending machines for both collecting and sending parcels.
