Ostrołęka. A bank robber came by bike

A 64-year-old man who tried to rob a bank near Ostrołęka faces 15 years in prison. A man wearing a coat made from a garbage bag entered the facility with a knife. After the unsuccessful action, he rode away on a bicycle.

The incident took place last Thursday. Around noon, a man dressed in plastic bags, a coat made of a garbage bag and a face mask entered one of the banks in Olszewo-Borki in the Ostrołęka district.

– He took out a knife and demanded that the bank employee give him money. The employee withdrew. She closed the protective door separating the customer area from the employee area. Then the perpetrator left the bank and rode away on a bicycle – Elżbieta Edyta Łukasiewicz, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka, told us.

He heard the charges

The perpetrator, as the spokeswoman adds, turned out to be 64-year-old Tadeusz F. – A knife and a mask, which he was wearing at the time of the incident, were seized from the perpetrator’s possession – she described.

Tadeusz F. was charged with “attempted robbery using a dangerous knife.”

– During the activities carried out at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka, the suspect admitted to committing the alleged act and provided explanations. The court fully agreed with the prosecutor’s position contained in the application for pre-trial detention and imposed an isolation preventive measure against Tadeusz F. for a period of three months, said the spokeswoman of the prosecutor’s office.

The 64-year-old faces 15 years in prison.
