Two cars collided head-on on national road number 61 near Ostrołęka. One person died. Six were taken to hospital, three of them were evacuated from the car by firefighters using hydraulic tools. Emergency services are working on site. The road is completely blocked.

The collision occurred in Kordowo.

The Ostrołęka police reported that two passenger cars were involved in the accident: a Ford and a Toyota.

The officers warned about difficulties. National road number 61 is completely blocked. “Police officers from the Ostrołęka traffic department are working on site under the supervision of the prosecutor. Detours are being made, please avoid this place if possible and choose alternative routes. Difficulties may last until 10 a.m. We appeal for caution,” the Ostrołęka police said in a statement.

Three people trapped

We asked the fire brigade about the situation. – Two passenger vehicles collided head-on. A total of seven people traveled on them. Three people were trapped in the Toyota after the collision. They were freed by firefighters using hydraulic tools and evacuated outside. One person died as a result of the collision. A total of six people were transported to hospital – said Senior Capt. Adrian Stupski from the fire brigade in Ostrołęka.

The fire brigade, police and ambulance are on site.
