The driver overtook a police car on a pedestrian crossing marked with vertical and horizontal signs. She was immediately stopped and fined 1,500 PLN, and 15 points were added to her account.

On Friday, September 13, on Goworowska Street in Ostrołęka, traffic police officers on duty in a marked police van noticed a female Volkswagen driver overtaking them on a pedestrian crossing marked with vertical and horizontal signs. They stopped her for inspection.

– Behind the wheel was a 30-year-old resident of Ostrołęka County, who was completely unaware of the fact that she had committed one of the most dangerous offences – informs Senior Superintendent Tomasz Żerański from the police in Ostrołęka. – Unfortunately, as this incident shows, drivers even with several years of experience are not aware of the offences they commit, which pose a huge threat to pedestrians – he adds.

Ticket, points and appeal

In accordance with the applicable tariffs, the driver was fined PLN 1,500 and 15 points were added to her account.
