Ostroleka. The District Court in Ostrołęka issued a verdict in a case of brutal rape

Daniel R was sentenced to seven years in prison. He is also banned from approaching the victim and from contacting her for four years. The brutal rape took place two years ago, the trial lasted almost a year.

The brutal rape took place in March 2021 in the Wyszków district. In December of the same year, the prosecutor’s office filed an indictment in this case with the District Court in Ostrołęka.

– Daniel R., a resident of Pułtusk, was accused of, among other things, committing the brutal rape of 21-year-old Oliwia P., depriving the victim of freedom combined with particular torment, including beatings, insults, vulgar threats of death and giving her amphetamines – informed the spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrołęka, Elżbieta Łukasiewicz .

In addition, the prosecutor’s office accused Daniel R. of making criminal threats to deprive the life of the victim’s partner and child. – The indictment also contained allegations of non-payment of child support for the defendant’s two children. Daniel R. committed these acts in recidivism conditions, Łukasiewicz reported.

Seven years in prison

The trial before the court in this case lasted almost a year. During the trial, the accused, the victim and many witnesses were questioned. It was conducted in secret.

In early January, the court closed the case and the parties made closing arguments. – On January 19, 2023, the District Court in Ostrołęka issued a judgment in this case, in which it shared the arguments contained in the indictment presented by the prosecutor – Łukasiewicz informed on Friday.

R. was sentenced to seven years in prison, he is also forbidden to approach the injured woman at a distance of less than 100 meters.

The judgment is not final.
