Ostrów Mazowiecka. Fatal hit on a pedestrian crossing

The tragedy occurred in Ostrów Mazowiecka. According to the police, an 18-year-old driver hit a 68-year-old woman at a pedestrian crossing. Unfortunately, the woman died in the hospital.

On Monday evening, the officer on duty at the Ostrów police station received a report about a road accident on Warszawska Street in Ostrów Mazowiecka. Traffic policemen rushed to the spot.

“They initially determined that the Audi driver, a sober 18-year-old from the Ostrów district, hit a 68-year-old woman passing by at a marked pedestrian crossing. The woman, a resident of the Ostrów district, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of medics, the woman's life could not be saved. The woman died in hospital,” said Asp. Marzena Laczkowska from the Masovian police.

Further activities in the case aimed at explaining all the circumstances of this tragic event are carried out by Ostrów police officers from the criminal department under the supervision of the prosecutor.

The police appealed to drivers to be careful on the road, especially near pedestrian crossings. “This is where pedestrians should feel safe when crossing the street,” they noted.
