Ostrów Warcki, Jeziorsko reservoir. He swam 20 meters from the shore and suddenly disappeared under the water. The 24-year-old is dead

The incident took place on July 20, around 5 p.m. in Ostrów Warcki. The services received a report about a man who was swimming in the Jeziorsko reservoir and suddenly disappeared under water.

– A man swimming about 20 meters from the shore was noticed by anglers, according to their reports, he suddenly disappeared under the water. The men immediately notified the services – describes junior brigadier Jędrzej Pawlak, press officer of the provincial commander of the State Fire Service in Łódź.

According to Pawlak, the first fire brigade was on the scene after a few minutes. – Volunteer firefighters from Jeziorsko appeared on the spot and started searching the area. They eventually brought the man to shore, where the rescue team began CPR, which lasted about 50 minutes. Unfortunately, the man’s life could not be saved.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
