A 14-year-old boy infected with coronavirus died in a hospital in Ostrów Wielkopolski. He came to the facility on Thursday in a serious condition. There he was tested positive. It is not known yet what caused the death of the 14-year-old. An autopsy has been commissioned.
The 14-year-old went to the hospital in Ostrów Wielkopolski on Thursday. Doctors described his condition as serious. Previously, he was to be treated for an upper respiratory tract infection for a week. After his condition deteriorated rapidly, he was taken to hospital.
– First, he went to a pediatric ward in a very serious condition, where he underwent oxygen treatment and diagnostics, but the condition deteriorated very quickly and he was transferred to the children’s ICU, where he died in the afternoon – informs Dr. Adam Stangret, spokesman for the hospital in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
After being admitted to the hospital, doctors performed a PCR test for coronavirus. The test showed a positive result.
The boy was not vaccinated, the hospital spokesman said.

It is not known yet what caused the death of the 14-year-old. – There is a prosecution in progress. There will be a section that will explain the cause of death – said Coachman.
The boy’s preliminary examination suggested that he might be infected with sepsis. – A very short stay in the hospital did not allow for a complete diagnosis of the patient – said Coachman.
1,941 new infections in Greater Poland
On Friday, the Ministry of Health announced 1,941 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Greater Poland. This is the third highest result in the country.
In total, since March 4 last year, when the first SARS-CoV-2 infection was detected in Poland, 3,303,046 cases were confirmed. 80,399 people have died from COVID-19.
