Police officers near Otwock detained a 26-year-old who was breaking into the loft. According to the spokeswoman of the district headquarters, the man stole 159 decorative pigeons, the value of which was estimated by the aggrieved breeder at over PLN 9,000. Some of the stolen birds have been recovered, the rest – as explained by the suspect – have already been sold at the marketplace.

Officers from Sobień-Jezior were notified about thefts with break-in, which took place in June and July on one of the premises in Dzieciinów. – The perpetrator broke the padlocks and broke the lock of the loft door, and then stole a total of 159 decorative pigeons from inside it, worth nearly nine thousand zlotys – informs the spokeswoman of the Otwock headquarters of the asp. Paulina Harabin.

As he points out, the policemen working on the case initially had no clue and no information on the basis of which they could identify a possible perpetrator of these burglaries. – The district officer was involved in the findings of the burglar, who conducted numerous talks with the inhabitants and pigeon breeders in the Sobienie Jeziory commune. Joint actions of the officers paid off. Last Sunday, police detained a suspect in the case of a 26-year-old. In addition, during the search of his property, they recovered some of the stolen pigeons – says the policewoman.

The detainee heard allegations of theft with burglary. – The man confessed to committing the alleged offense, then explained that he had sold the remaining pigeons at the marketplace. The criminal code for burglary and burglary provides a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, sums up Harabin.
