Detectives from Otwock near Warsaw have arrested a 53-year-old man who fatally hit a woman on a local street in 2012. The man was wanted on an arrest warrant because he failed to report to prison after a break in serving his sentence.

One of the tasks of the police officers of the criminal division is to conduct searches for people hiding from law enforcement or justice. In this case, the wanted man took advantage of the break in serving the sentence.

Fatal hit-and-run during “night raid”

The Otwock detectives have received a warrant for a 53-year-old resident of Otwock. – The man was wanted in a case from 2012, when he fatally hit a woman during a night raid on the streets of Otwock. The 53-year-old ended up behind bars. Recently, the District Court in Otwock issued a warrant for the man after he failed to report to prison after a break in serving his sentence – informs junior asp. Patryk Domarecki from the District Police Headquarters in Otwock.

The convict has nine years left to serve.

He will also be held accountable for drug charges.

The police located the apartment where the 53-year-old was hiding (they are not revealing how). When they were sure that the wanted man was in the apartment, they entered and detained the man.

“The 53-year-old also had narcotics in the form of amphetamines. Now, the wanted man, in accordance with the verdict, will return to prison for many years, and will also be held responsible for possession of narcotics,” Domarecki concluded.
