Police officers from the Otwock traffic police detained a 38-year-old man who drove his car into a pole, and earlier hit a fence and another car. Officers determined the man was driving under the influence of alcohol. He also had five active driving bans. During the inspection, mephedrone was found in his jacket pocket.

Policemen from the Traffic Department of the Otwock Police Headquarters were called to a collision on Wyszyński Street in Józefów. The information showed that the Mercedes had hit a roadside pole there.

– After arriving at the place, the uniforms checked the sobriety of the 38-year-old driver. It turned out that there was more than 0.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. After a while, it also turned out that it was a drunk man who was also behind two other crashes that happened a few kilometers away – informed Paulina Harabin from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Otwock.

The 38-year-old hit the fence of one of the properties and a Volkswagen parked on the street, and after checking it turned out that he should not be driving at all, as he had five active court driving bans.

“The 38-year-old went crazy”

But that wasn’t his biggest problem. Police officers found significant amounts of mephedrone in the pocket of his jacket during further activities. That’s when the 38-year-old went berserk, Harabin said.

She also informed that the police had to use coercive measures and overpowered the aggressor. – When they forced the man into the police car, he tried to get out of it, kicking various parts of the vehicle. While breaking free, he damaged the uniform measuring device. As if that was not enough, during the drive to the Otwock police station, he attempted to bribe the policemen and offered them 2,000 zlotys in exchange for withdrawing from the activities. As a result, he ended up in a police cell – noted Paulina Harabin.

The prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Otwock presented him with four charges, and the 38-year-old resident of the capital was arrested for three months. The court will decide his fate.
