TVN24 BIS journalist Hubert Kijek, our man on the moon, once again went on a simulated space walk. The aim of the exercise was to test various mission scenarios, including those that require dealing with a crisis.

Hubert Kijek has been locked up in the LunAres habitat nearby for almost a week saws (Greater Poland Voivodeship). The TVN24 BiS reporter is taking part in the analog mission Theia II 2023, imitating real expeditions to the surface of the Silver Globe. Its integral part is also “moon walks”, during which scientists and engineers test safety procedures and sampling methods.

– Earth, here are analog astronauts, we are reporting from the Amundsen crater – Hubert Kijek began the report on the “moon walk”. As he explained, one of the goals of the exercise is to test different scenarios that may occur during real missions to the Moon or Mars.

– During this walk (…) it turned out that this gentleman in the blue suit has a leak. We had to secure his suit with duct tape in our airlock.

During the lunar walk, the crew also collected dust and rock samples. This is part of a research project aimed at developing a methodology for obtaining lunar rocks as a building material. The samples are then placed inside a special rover.

“That’s how life is on this moon,” the reporter concluded.
