Ożarów Mazowiecki. Closed railway crossing on Ceramiczna

Let us recall that on July 1st, a tragic accident occurred on Ceramiczna Street in Ożarów Mazowiecki, at a marked railway crossing. A truck collided with a Koleje Mazowieckie train, the driver was killed.

An investigation was launched, and the crossing was also examined by specialists from the State Commission for the Investigation of Rail Accidents. They, as we now read in a statement from the railway workers, recommended closing the crossing.

The document from PKP PLK was published by officials from Ożarów Mazowiecki. They reported that after the tragic accident, the crossing was monitored around the clock. “Many irregularities” were found at the time. It was mainly about the behavior of drivers. An example? On the night of August 1-2, the barriers were broken down.

PKP PLK has therefore decided to close the crossing. Drivers will not be able to cross the tracks at Ceramiczna from August 6, from midnight.

The railway workers do not say how long the disruptions will last. The letter only states that “until the road manager introduces the appropriate traffic organization that will ensure an appropriate level of safety.”
