More and more people are fighting for their lives in intensive care. Hundreds of people are losing this fight every day. Can there be any doubt that this pandemic is a matter of life and death?” – underlined the president.
In the article, the president called for vaccination against the coronavirus. “Get vaccinated, our country’s future is at stake,” he wrote, adding, “From this week on, we have 100,000 deaths on Covid in Germany. An unimaginable number that shocks and pains me.”

Steinmeier: let’s stick to the rules

It is about your health and that of your neighbors! The future of our country is at stake.”

Over 44,000 new infections
In Germany, the seven-day incidence of coronavirus rose to 446.7 on Sunday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced. On Saturday it was 444.3. This value indicates how many people per 100 thousand. residents have been infected with the coronavirus in the past seven days.
Health authorities reported 44,401 new infections to the RKI, which is 1,674 more than on Sunday a week ago. A further 104 people have died from the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 100,883.
