PARIS — Paris has rescinded a particular honor it bestowed on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas due to his latest antisemitic feedback minimizing the Holocaust.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo revealed a letter Friday saying that “your remarks run counter to common values and the historic fact of the Holocaust.”

Noting that tens of hundreds of Jews have been rounded up in Paris underneath the Nazi occupation and deported to demise camps, Hidalgo stated, “We condemn your feedback with the utmost firmness. No trigger can justify revisionism and negationism.”

Hidalgo awarded Abbas town’s highest honor, the Grand Bronze of Paris, in 2015 for his efforts towards peace within the Center East and a two-state resolution.

In a speech final month to senior members of his Fatah motion, Abbas stated that Adolf Hitler killed European Jews not due to antisemitism, however due to their “social capabilities” in society, resembling cash lending.
