Reducing the working time to 35 hours a week, raising wages in the budget sector by 20 percent, free in vitro procedure and 100 percent reimbursed hormonal contraception, combating the privileges of the clergy and building 300,000 flats for cheap rent – these are the main proposals presented on Saturday by politicians from the Left at a rally in Częstochowa.

On Saturday afternoon, the election rally of the New Left took place in the Old Market Square in Częstochowa.

We must stop the extreme right. They must be stopped before they drown Poland in hatred and selfishness, before they push Poland out of Europe. And we will stop them, we are able to do it – said the leader of the Together Party, Adrian Zandberg.

The politician also referred to the election slogan of the Confederation. “You’ve probably heard them tense up a thousand times and say they’re going to knock over the table.” They will not overturn any table, in fact they are just waiting in line for Jarosław Kaczyński to show them a place by the trough, and this is how the history of the Confederation will end, Zandberg said. As he added, “this common table of ours does not need to be turned over.” – This table needs to be fixed. Make sure there is room for everyone at the table. You have to make sure that no one goes hungry at this table.

Zandberg: we have the right to live and work like Europeans

Zandberg emphasized that Poles have the right to “live and work like Europeans”. – We will raise salaries in the state budget by 20 percent in the next year. This is our hard rule condition. And from next year, we will introduce fair wage indexation, so that people who work for the Polish state do not have to wonder how to make ends meet at the end of the month, announced Zandberg.

As he argued, wages must increase not only in the budget sector, but also in production and services. – We will give employees real tools for negotiating wage increases. (…) We will eliminate the bureaucracy, he declared.

Zandberg said that “over the last decades, Poland has worked very hard, (…) but now it’s time to breathe a little.” – We will lead – and this is our commitment – to shorten working hours in Poland, gradually, step by step, safe for the economy, but for everyone. We will ensure that at the end of the next term of office, the working week in Poland will be 35 hours. We will do this while maintaining wages,” he declared.

“Under the rule of the Left, every woman will have the full right to choose”

The deputy head of the Left club, Magdalena Biejat, indicated that it was coming elections it is a battle over “who will take third place on the podium and form a government after the elections”. – This battle will be fought over whether the government will be formed after the elections Confederation or the Left. If the Confederation wins, the government it created will be a government of the extreme, murderous, anti-women right. If the Left wins, it will be a pro-women, pro-European and democratic government, she stressed.

Biejat: On October 15, we will decide whether abortion will be punishable by imprisonment in Poland

She assured that in Poland ruled by the Left, “every woman will have the right to give birth without pain, to professional care, to care and to be treated with dignity, all within the National Health Fund.” – On October 15, we will go to decide whether abortion will be punished in Poland by imprisonment, whether divorce will be banned, whether it will be possible to beat children with impunity, as the Confederation dreams of – said Biejat. As she added, the Left “will protect all children from violence.”

She emphasized that under the rule of the Left “every woman will have the full right to choose”. – No hospital in Poland will be able to hide behind the conscience clause – she announced. – We will introduce a free in vitro procedure and 100 percent reimbursed hormonal contraception – she added.

Scheuring-Wielgus on the fight against the privileges of the clergy

The left also announced the fight against the “indecent privileges of the clergy” and the “alliance of the throne with the altar”.

Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus, a member of the Left, stressed that “the Left has never, never had anything against the faithful or religion.” “If someone tries to tell someone that the Left is attacking the faithful or religion, that’s an outright lie,” she said. As she noted, “we show the abuses, privileges, reliefs that the clergy has, which we believe should not happen because we should all be treated equally.”

“Tell me, who of you pays taxes?” Who pays taxes, please raise your hand? Everyone pays taxes. Now tell me, who of you pays high taxes? Everyone too! But there are tax privileged groups in Poland – said Scheuring-Wielgus. – The clergy pays taxes every quarter, depending on the function they perform, from PLN 160 to PLN 1,900. So, if he is a pastor in a small parish, he pays PLN 160, and if he is a bishop, it is about PLN 1,900. Is it fair that they pay quarterly in such amounts? the MP asked.

Biedroń: The left will fight for a woman’s right to decide about her life, health and body

Robert Biedron declared that the Left is against the conscience clause. In his opinion, it should be liquidated, because – as he noted – “it has real consequences”. – Do you feel safe in a country ruled by PiS? Biedron asked. He noted that we live in “a country where Polish women today have fewer rights than when Poland joined the European Union in 2004.” – Today, Polish women have one of the most barbaric, one of the most restrictive rights when it comes to access to legal, safe abortion – not only in Europe, but also in the world. This is a pathology that can only be changed by the Polish left, because it is the Polish left that has always fought, fights and will fight for a woman’s right to decide about her life, her health, her body, said Biedroń. He added that “the brown-fascist coalition that is already knocking on our door, this coalition of PiS and the Confederation, among its goals – it is announced by the Confederation – will have Poland out of the European Union.”

Czarzasty about the construction of 300,000 apartments for cheap rent

Co-chairman of the New Left and Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Vladimir Czarzasty at a rally in Częstochowa, he emphasized that “Poland is a country that is unable to solve housing problems.” He noted that “Poland will never be safe in the social dimension at a time when (…) there is a shortage of 1.5 million apartments.”

– Mr. Kaczyński, Poland will never be safe in the social dimension if 60 percent of people between 25 and 30 live with their parents. In Denmark it is 4 percent, and in Germany 18 percent, Czarzasty pointed out.

According to the politician, if “someone has PLN 10,000 net or PLN 12,500 per person in the family, they usually have their own apartment”. – Loans should be given to people who do not have such income – he assessed. – So what if you pay extra for loans if people can’t take loans – he added.

As he noted, “The left speaks hard and clearly – we will build flats for cheap rent in cities.” – We do it in Częstochowa. We do it in Włocławek. We do this in many cities where presidents associated with us govern, pointed out the party’s co-chairman. – We want to build 300,000 apartments for cheap rent in the near future, because we know that cheap rent is for the young generation, for people who cannot afford housing – announced Czarzasty.

– Just like we led Poland to the European Union, like Aleksander Kwasniewski signed the NATO Pact, just as we gave Poland a constitution, now we want to do the next work. It will be a solution to the housing problem in Poland, he declared.
