Parliamentary elections 2023. PiS politicians commented on the results of the exit poll

According to exit poll conducted by Ipsos, the democratic opposition has a chance of winning 248 seats in the Sejm. The study shows that Law and Justice can count on 200 seats, and the Civic Coalition on 163. Third Road, the Left and Confederation also enter the Sejm. According to Ipsos, voter turnout was 72.9 percent.

PiS politicians commented on these survey results. Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, Ryszard Terlecki, when asked whether this was not a pyrrhic victory, replied that “it will become clear maybe tomorrow, maybe after tomorrow, when we have the official results.” – For now, there is a clear victory and I think that we will consummate this victory by forming a government – he said.

When asked with whom, he said that “all will be revealed.” – I am an optimist by nature, so I think we will cope – he said. – For now, we stick to the fact that our results are good and they can be even better – he added.

Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg said it was a “very good evening”. – This is the fourth victory, the third time that Law and Justice has won these products, so there is only joy – she said.

To the comment that, according to the exit poll, PiS does not have a majority, she replied: – Let’s wait. When asked who a possible coalition could be formed with, she also replied “let’s wait.”

Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Paweł Głosernaker, when asked with whom PiS could possibly form a coalition, said that “a coalition is built after the elections.” – After the official election results, we will build a coalition – he announced.

According to him, “now we need to do everything to try to create a majority after the official election results.”

– We are waiting for the results announced by the National Electoral Commission – said MEP Ryszard Czarnecki. He said that the results of exit polls differ from the official election results.

– I hear that a large part of voters did not want to tell pollsters who they voted for. I think these are largely PiS voters, said the MEP.

MEP Dominik Tarczyński argued that PiS won “three times in a row.” – We will go down in history. Nobody can take that away from us. And now we will see who wants to go to work for (Donald – ed.) Tusk. We serve Poland, he added.

– We won the elections and we will see which of the parties that entered will want to serve Poland. Let’s give them time, said Tarczyński.

Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Małgorzata Gosiewska assessed that “people chose Law and Justice” and PiS “won the elections for the third time.”

She also turned to journalists: – Let’s wait for the election results, these are just polls for now. I am convinced that (…) this real result will be better.

– Law and Justice won the elections and Law and Justice will build a new government – she said. When asked whether the Polish People’s Party “is a good conversation partner”, Gosiewska said that “any conversation partner is good.”
