If there is no place for us in the camp built by PiS, we will start on our own, said Zbigniew Ziobro, Minister of Justice and leader of Solidarna Polska in an interview with “Super Express”. He also spoke about his relations with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. – We have a different program, but personally we have a good relationship – he assured. Government spokesman Piotr Mueller, commenting on one of Ziobro’s posts in social media, expressed hope that “Solidarity Poland will not make the mistake of 2011”.
Zbigniew Ziobro he was asked if there would be a coalition with the Confederacy, if so PIS and Solidarna Polska will win the autumn elections together, but will not win a majority. – For now, I imagine winning the election. If you fight for something, there is no need to assume negative scenarios. We must aim to win. The only thing I am considering for now is the scenario of the start of Solidarna Polska without PiS, said the leader of the SP in an interview for “Super Express” published on Friday. – If there is no place for us in the camp built by PiS, we will start on our own – he added.
Ziobro: I don’t know if we will nominate a joint candidate for the presidency of Poland with PiS
The Minister of Justice stated that he “has no ambition” to run in the presidential election. – But in Solidarity Poland we have great candidates – he assured. When asked if Beata Szydło could become a joint candidate for president, he said that she was a representative of PiS, but he highly appreciated the years of their cooperation. – I do not know whether we will put forward a joint candidate with PiS. If that were the case, Mrs. Szydło would have the support of Solidarna Polska, declared Ziobro.
Ziobro on the relationship with Morawiecki
Asked if it might happen that there will be SP support for Mateusz Morawiecki, replied that “this would be decided by the board of our party.” – The will of the majority will decide. I respect the independence of our members.
He spoke about his relationship with the prime minister. – Mateusz Morawiecki is the Prime Minister appointed by PiS, therefore we cooperate within the government. However, there are differences between us. We negotiate or take a different position. This was the case with, for example, KPO. We also did not support the decision on Fit for 55. We are different in the program, but personally we have good relations – he described.
Government spokesman: I hope that Solidarna Polska will not make the mistake of 2011
On Thursday, Ziobro, commenting on Twitter the decision of the Zamość councilors to repeal the resolution supporting Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, criticized Morawiecki for “submitting to the blackmail” of Brussels. Government spokesman Piotr Mueller referred to this entry. – I hope that Solidarna Polska will not make the mistake of 2011, when it led to the decomposition of Law and Justice – he said.
In November 2011, Ziobro was expelled from PiS together with Tadeusz Cymański and Jacek Kurski. These politicians were previously subject to disciplinary proceedings for their public statements. Ziobro spoke, among other things, about the need to democratize PiS and open the party to other circles. PiS later left a dozen other parliamentarians. They formed the Solidarna Polska parliamentary club, on the basis of which the party was later established.
