If Law and Justice wins a third term of office, the Polish political system will move towards a normal dictatorship, assessed former Prime Minister, MEP Leszek Miller in “Kropka nad i”. In his opinion, after PiS’s third victory, “the only anchor that keeps Poland in a democratic drift will remain, which is the European Union.” – But I think PiS will want to cut the rope that holds it captive – he added.

Former prime minister Leszek Miller he was asked in “Kropka nad i” about the election campaign PiSin which the heads of state institutions, for example the head of the State Forests, were involved. – The Polish political system is evolving towards authoritarianism, and if PiS wins its third term, it will move towards a normal dictatorship – he assessed.

He noted that such an action may be “for example, a new constitution, some new laws that will liquidate these remnants of democracy.” “Either straight away or step by step, Poland is simply too much to be a democratic country even on the surface,” he said.

– The only anchor that keeps Poland in a democratic drift will remain, that is European Union. Well, but I think that in the third term of office PiS will want to cut the rope that holds it captive – he said.

Miller: Donald Tusk will not win these elections alone

Referring to the opposition’s election campaign, Miller stated “in the most subtle way that we are standing still, but really Donald Tusk he will not win these elections alone.” – Without Donald Tusk, the situation of both the Civic Platform and the opposition would be much worse – he assessed.

– I very much regret that the leaders of smaller parties do not follow the example of the United Right. They do not see that a well-organized army must be confronted by another well-organized army, not a mobilization, because the mobilization will be crushed to dust, he said.

He was also asked about the IBRIS poll for Polsat News, where most of the respondents assessed that he was the mayor of Warsaw Rafal Trzaskowski, and not Donald Tusk, should become the face of the PO campaign and the leader of this party. – The very question addressed to the public about who should be the prime minister has a fundamental error. The prime minister is not elected by popular vote. The prime minister should always be the head of the winning party. Therefore, these studies do not make much sense – he assessed.

– On the other hand, when it comes to Mr. Tusk’s negative electorate, Mr. Kaczyński has an even greater negative electorate. And what about this? – He asked.
