Elements of western Scotland had been rattled by a small earthquake in the midst of the evening.

A tremor with a magnitude of three.1 was measured at 2am round 11 miles northwest of the city of Lochgilphead in Argyll and Bute, some 88 miles northwest of Glasgow.

The earthquake occurred 10km under the Earth’s floor, in response to the USA Geological Survey (USGS).

Greater than 30 folks reported to the USGS that that they had felt the tremor, with some coming as far-off as Edinburgh and Ballycastle in Northern Eire.
