A passenger on the Stena Estelle ferry from Sweden was evacuated by rescuers. The man complained of severe chest pain and was airlifted to the hospital.

Rescuers were called by the ferry crew on Wednesday after 2 pm. Information about the evacuation was provided by Rafał Goeck, spokesman for the Maritime Search and Rescue Service.

– We received information from the crew of the Stena Estelle ferry that there is a 65-year-old citizen on board Slovakiawho needs medical evacuation. The passenger was breathing heavily and complained of severe chest pain, he said.

A helicopter and the Bryza rescue ship were dispatched to the site. – The helicopter picked up the injured and evacuated him to the hospital – added Goeck.
