“Pathological matters”. Deputy Minister of the climate about the results of the audit in the State Forests

The deputy minister clarified that more was spent on the above -mentioned things than on nature protection.

Among the actions taken in the State Forests, he also mentioned “pumped right -wing media, media of Father Rydzyk, joint trips, money for the school of Father Tadeusz Rydzyk”.

He explained that after the audit, the Ministry of Climate and Environment and State Forests reported over 60 cases to the prosecutor's office.

– A special team was established in the Krakow delegation of the prosecutor's office. Mr. National Prosecutor (Dariusz) Korneluk appointed a team where he coordinates all these works. Things are pathological. From the attempt to force foresters to transfer their own money from their own bonus to the accounts of specific foundations, behind which specific people stood, by sponsoring right -wing media – said the deputy minister.

Dorożała pointed out that “the Supreme Audit Office did control and the Supreme Audit Office showed that what appeared in these information materials had nothing to do with the statutory task of the State Forests.”

– An investigation is underway in at least a dozen or so matters that are already there. There are over 60 of these matters. Some matters are thicker, some a little less. (…) I expect these people to be punished. This is the basic matter. We have the issue of the famous billboards that came out, over PLN 60 million. Just overwhelmed money. (…) State forests are to deal with billboards? This is some paranoia – said the deputy minister.

– Over the years, funds for pilgrimages, picnics and ads of their people were flying. The Investigative Team to examine the economy, legality and legitimacy of actions taken in 2015-2023 by the State Forest Forest Gospodarstwo State Forests was established at the beginning of December 2024 in the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Krakow by the national prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk.

The team included four prosecutors, and its head became the deputy regional prosecutor in Krakow, prosecutor Jan Kościsz.

Investigators deal primarily with the activities of the General Director of the LP, directors of regional management as well as other public officials and persons employed in this enterprise, related to land management and other real estate, and property at the disposal of the State Forests.

The team is also to examine the correctness of supervision over the State Forests on the part of the minister competent for the environment. Until 2023, the State Forests were ruled by right -wing politicians, in particular related to sovereign Poland Zbigniew Ziobra.

According to the results of an audit carried out in LP in 2020-2023, PLN 26,249,483.37 for “right-wing Catholic media” was spent. In July 2024, the General Director of the LP notified the prosecutor's office regarding the exposure of the company to the detriment of PLN 84 million and damage in the amount of PLN 2.6 million; The notification was made on the basis of a report, which showed that the introduction of a new uniform formula for LP employees had no economic justification or legal basis.

Conducting the purchase and circumstances of the uniform production were described as “gross miserable”. The prosecutor's office was also reported on the support of the Ecological Foundation of the Youth Forum by State Forests, mainly from the Regional Directorate of LP in Bialystok, for a total amount of over 733 thousand. zloty. Deputy Minister of the Climate Mikołaj Dorożała said then that it was a “organized criminal group that led the property of the State Forests”.

In March 2024, the State Forests informed about the referral to the prosecutor's office about the possibility of committing a crime by seven people in connection with the order of 2,000 billboards, which were to be placed in forest areas. The director of the LP then assessed that there was a violation of the public procurement law, and “the whole action is a book example of mismanagement.”
