Against the background of various other rankings, this can be considered a list of dreams of oncological patients. Oncofundation Alivia in the survey asked patients where to treat herself comprehensively, effectively, and with respect and empathy, which in the fight against cancer is as important as therapy or medicines.

The Radom Oncology Center – according to the Alivia Oncofundation ranking – is the best place to treat cancer in Poland. In the second place in the ranking was the Clinical Hospital in Katowice, and the third – the Mazowiecki Oncology Hospital in Wieliszew. Over 100 facilities were evaluated throughout Poland by 35,000 patients.

– We are a relatively small center, which means that we provide a large intimacy for the patient while ensuring complete comprehensive treatment – says Maciej Chwaliński, medical director of the Radom Oncology Center.

The patient at the oncology center in Radom will receive both immunotherapy, chemotherapy and radiation, and can be operated. Patients appreciate it, but when we ask them why this hospital is good, they are talking about something completely different first.

The patients did not assess the therapeutic decisions

The patient affected by cancer expects – in addition to efficient and effective medical care – also simply good and full of respect and empathy of treatment. That is why the alivia oncofundation in the survey asked patients to assess the compliance with patient's rights, treatment method, comfort, treatment organization and general care.

However, patients did not assess the therapeutic decisions taken by doctors. – The patient usually has no knowledge in this area. That is why we ask about the patient's feelings. The patient's feelings and patient satisfaction are important for us – explains Joanna Frątczak -Kazana from oncofundation Alivia.

The patient's feelings and satisfaction are as important in the therapeutic process as the drugs administered. A patient feeling comfort, positively thinking, wanting to live faster. That is why patients value those facilities where they are simply respected, do not wander around the hospital, they can quickly obtain information at the reception and by phone. Most importantly, thanks to good organization of work, they do not lose their strength and time to wait for hours for research and starting treatment.

– The outgoing patient with a smile, despite such a difficult oncological treatment process, is probably the greatest well -deserved good that Medyka can meet – believes Renata Wachowicz, director of the University Clinical Center of SUM in Katowice.
