Life partner of Orlen’s president, Daniel Obajtek, Paulina Sala, became a proxy at Energa Operator, a company belonging to the Orlen group; he also holds a deputy director position in the company – writes “Gazeta Wyborcza”. The daily adds that Obajtek’s partner bought a luxury apartment with the head of Orlen and sits on several supervisory boards of state-owned companies.

In the fall of 2018, the President of Orlen and his partner bought a nearly 200-meter apartment on the top floor of a building in the prestigious Awangarda estate in Warsaw’s Bemowo district. According to the documents the daily has obtained, in 2018 they paid 1 million zlotys less than the market price for an apartment.

As we read in “Wyborcza”, from July 22, 2016 to August 2, 2019, Sala was a member of the supervisory board of PKP Cargo Terminale, and on August 2, 2016, she was also entered into the supervisory board of PKP Cargo Centrum Logistyczny Medyka-Żurawica Sp. z o. o

In addition, from September 25, 2017 to January 18, 2021, she was a member of the supervisory board of RCEkoenergia, a Czechowice-Dziedzice company belonging to the Lotos Group. From October 27, 2016 until now, he is also a member of the supervisory board of the Bieruń-based NitroERG company. It is the largest producer of explosives in Poland and one of the largest in Europe, belonging to KGHM. Since April 30, 2020, Obajtek’s partner has been on the supervisory board of Lotos Oil.

At Energa, Operator Sala is not only a deputy director, but also a proxy. The commercial proxy represents the company when its management board performs legal actions.

In an interview with “Wyborcza”, the company did not see anything wrong with hiring Sala. Energa Operator argued that Obajtek’s partner has the necessary qualifications to work in her position, and her employment was not a sign of nepotism. The company has not revealed what belongs to the hall’s official duties.
