The conflict in the National Bank of Poland continues. Paweł Mucha, a member of the management board of the central bank, wrote on social media that “any irregularities, including violations of laws on the part of the President of NBP, should be explained by competent authorities.” He also published a letter to Adam Glapiński, in which he wrote, among other things, that “the employer is obliged to respect the dignity and other personal rights of the employee.”
The conflict at the central bank has been in the news for several weeks. At the beginning of November, Paweł Mucha, a member of the NBP management board, published a statement and two letters in which he accused the head of the NBP, Adam Glapiński, of failing to perform his duties and criticized the cooperation of the central bank authorities.
Mucha stated, among other things, that copies of the minutes of the Monetary Policy Council meetings are not made available to “at least some” members of the NBP management board.
On Friday, Mucha published a series of entries on the X platform regarding the head of the NBP, Adam Glapiński. “Any irregularities, including violations of laws on the part of the President of the NBP, which I have been reporting for months (and in which some other members of the NBP Management Board also participated) should be explained by competent authorities. There is no independence from compliance with the law,” we read in one of them.
Suit to court
The wpolityce.pl portal reported on Friday that Mucha had filed a lawsuit against the NBP. He demands payment of overdue bonuses, which he was supposed to receive at a reduced rate for several months. Mucha’s claims are worth over PLN 140,000. zloty.
“If I win the lawsuit for payment, including compensation for violating the principle of equal treatment in employment, I will significantly support the St. John the Evangelist Hospice in Szczecin and the Little Feet Foundation. So this is not about my claims,” Mucha wrote on the X platform .
In the next entry, he added: “It’s about responsibility for the central bank. It’s about performing the mandate of a Member of the Management Board to the best of my knowledge and skills, but above all, effectively, i.e. so as to restore full compliance of the activities of the NBP bodies with the law.”
Mucha also published a letter addressed to President Glapiński. In it, he writes, among other things, that he was asked to delete entries previously published on the .
“I did not represent the Bank, only myself, my honor and good name, which I have the right to defend,” he emphasized.
Mucha announced that he did not intend to delete posts on social media.
He also emphasized that as a member of the NBP management board and an employee of the National Bank of Poland, he has the right to the so-called employee whistleblowing and public presentation of information about possible violations of the law by the President of NBP.
“Especially in situations where, despite the fact that I raised the issues many times, they were not resolved in accordance with the law, and even more so in a situation where my demands to ensure compliance with the law and internal regulations of the NBP are met with subsequent acts of retaliation and attacks me by the President of the National Bank of Poland or his employees – we read in the letter.
