It was an unusual report. Police officers from Łapy received information that a small deer was lying on the side of the road, probably hit by a car.
When the officers found the animal, it turned out that the deer had no visible injuries. However, it was breathing heavily and was exhausted. It tried to get up, but it did not have the strength to stand on its feet.
It was hot
“It was very hot outside. The police gave the deer some water to drink and notified the veterinary services. They took care of the animal until they arrived,” we read in a statement on the website of the City Police Headquarters in Białystok.
The deer was taken to the hospital.
“It is worth remembering that when we see an injured animal that has injuries or problems moving, we should notify the veterinary services or an organization dealing with the protection of wild animals. If we do not have access to such information, we can report the matter to the police, who will notify the appropriate services,” the uniformed officers appeal.
