Pełkinie. A drunk woman drove into a ditch and hid from the police in a concrete culvert

A 31-year-old woman from Podkarpacie, who got behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol and ended her ride in a roadside ditch, faces up to three years in prison. The woman in reverse gear tried to get out of it. When she failed, she left the vehicle and hid in a concrete culvert from which firefighters pulled her out.

The event took place in Pełkinie in the Jarosław district in Podkarpacie. According to the police report, the dispatcher received a report that a car had driven into a roadside ditch. Behind the wheel of the vehicle – as determined by the uniform – was a 31-year-old resident of the Tryńcza commune.

– After driving into the ditch, the woman tried to get out of it in reverse gear. When she failed to do so, she got out of the vehicle and hid in a concrete culvert from which firefighters pulled her out – reports staff midshipman Anna Długosz, press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Jarosław.

– During the intervention, the woman was aggressive towards the police and did not respond to orders. She insulted the officers and violated their inviolability – reports staff midshipman Anna Długosz.

The 31-year-old was taken into police custody. After sobering up, she was questioned by investigators and charged with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, violating the bodily integrity of officers and insulting police officers. She is punishable by up to three years in prison.
