The Italian region of Abruzzo is fighting fires. Flames appeared, among others, in the area of the city of Pescara and engulfed local houses and beaches. Some residents were injured, the local media reported.
In connection with the fires, the authorities of the Italian region of Abruzzo called on Sunday to the government in Rome to send additional equipment and rescuers.

The complete record of the casualties in Pescara is unknown. The media on Sunday evening informed about five people transported to hospitals, among them there was to be a child and two nuns from a monastery in the area of the raging element.
People were running away from the beaches when the palms growing there burst into flames.
The flames first appeared in the pine forest and thickets, and then moved towards the residential buildings with a strong wind. It is assumed that an arson may have occurred. This is to explain the initiated investigation.
