PFRON, Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Persons with Disabilities. Ministry of Family and Social Policy about awards for employees

Employees of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled People and the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People (PFRON) in 2022 received awards in the total amount of over PLN 4.5 million. This is according to the information provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

The inquiry to the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg regarding expenses for bonuses and awards for the employees of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Disabled and the State Fund for Rehabilitation of the Disabled was sent by Iwona Hartwich from the Civic Coalition. “Many disabled people and their families report to my parliamentary office, expressing their dissatisfaction with the activities of the government plenipotentiary for people with disabilities and PFRON for people with disabilities,” wrote the MP.

Stanisław Szwed, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy, answered the question.

According to him, in the period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, the employees of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled Persons were paid bonuses in the amount of PLN 112,099.33. The representative of the government is Paweł Wdówik.

“The bonus is an obligatory component of the remuneration of employees employed in auxiliary, manual and service positions. It is paid in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of February 2, 2010 on the principles of remuneration for employees who are not members of the civil service corps, employed in government administration offices and employees of other units ” – explained Stanisław Szwed.

In addition, employees of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled Persons awards in the amount of PLN 854,700.00 were paid. “The law provides for the obligatory creation of a prize fund for members of the civil service corps and for employees who are not members of the civil service corps in the amount of 3 percent of the planned personal salaries for awards for special achievements in professional work” – pointed out Szwed.

As we read on the government’s website, “at present, the Office employs over 50 employees, of whom over 14 percent are people with disabilities”.

The deputy minister also provided information obtained from PFRON, i.e. an entity supervised by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. They show that in 2022 funds in the amount of PLN 3,648,181.75 were allocated for prizes in PFRON.
