There are no comments following the statement of Minister Przemysław Czarnek during the inauguration of the national school year. Sociologist and economist Paweł Kubicki and social activist for people with disabilities Mateusz Majkut commented on the words about the “absurd, ideological policy of inclusive education” in the “Tak jest” program on TVN24.

Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek On Monday, during the inauguration of the national school year at the Special Educational and Educational Center in Węgrów, he said that the authorities were financing “the construction, expansion and modernization of special schools in order to veto the absurd, ideological policy of inclusive education.” – We involve children in adult life, preferably in special schools, because we have excellent staff here – he added.

– Statements such as those of Minister Czarnek are scandalous and only serve to win the radical votes of Law and Justice voters – said Mateusz Majkut, a social activist for people with disabilities and candidate of Third Way to the Sejm, in the “Tak jest” program on TVN24.

– However, I would like to say that it is very important to include people with disabilities in social life, to invite them to television and the media so that they can present their point of view. This doesn’t happen often, he emphasized.

Returning to Minister Czarnek’s statement, Majkut said it was used “to attack and to intimidate.” – The minister is the worst minister of education. In education, we need openness to different environments, we need integration, because it is with education that the change of the entire society begins, and as Poland 2050, we focus on an open society, an inclusive society, we want people with disabilities to be full citizens, because we are all equal – he added .

“Czarnek is only saying this to get votes”

– Professor Czarnek, contrary to his government and the minister, contrary to the government strategy for people with disabilities, contrary to the Minister (Family and Social Policy – ed.) Paweł Wdówik, contrary to the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, contrary to everyone who talks about including society, says that he will exclude and says this only to gain electoral votes. He says this at the expense of the well-being of life and health of people with disabilities, said Paweł Kubicki, a sociologist and economist at the Warsaw School of Economics.

Inclusive education has been operating in Poland since the 1990s – over 4% of students receive special education. students, and 70 percent of them studies in public schools. Kubicki pointed out that “we have specific groups of people with disabilities where it can be said that special schools have a very large advantage.” – Such a group are deaf people, with a cultural distinctiveness built on identity with Polish sign language, where people with excellent knowledge of the language and a large number of deaf people are needed – he explained.

He emphasized that the vast majority of people with disabilities “have absolutely no problems – given a well-functioning school – to study in mainstream schools.” – And the advantages are obvious for everyone, starting with families who do not have to transport their children or lose them for a week to boarding school – he added.
