In Piaseczno, a passenger car driver hit a 10-year-old on a bicycle. The boy was taken to the hospital. The police are investigating. According to tvnwarszawa.pl, an off-duty policeman was driving the car that hit the child.

The incident took place on Thursday around 10 p.m. on Nadarzyńska Street in Piaseczno. – There was a road accident at this place with the participation of a 42-year-old driving a Volkswagen car and a minor cyclist, a boy aged 10 – informed Magdalena Gąsowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piaseczno. She added: – Preliminary findings show that a 10-year-old riding a bicycle suddenly entered a pedestrian crossing, where he was hit by a Volkswagen driver. The boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The exact course and circumstances of this event will be clarified.

A policeman behind the wheel, a cyclist without lights

The police officer said the driver of the car was intoxicated. – The bicycle the teenager rode was not equipped with lights. It is required by law. A 10-year-old should not be on this road either, because he did not have a bicycle card – said Gąsowska. She added that the boy’s mother was also present at the scene.
