Men suspected of breaking into a detached house in the commune of Piaski (Lubelskie Voivodeship) and stealing jewelery and over PLN 300,000 are threatened with up to 10 years in prison. The police also detained one person suspected of receiving stolen goods. Some of the stolen property has been recovered.

As senior aspirant Elwira Domaradzka, press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Świdnik, reported on Tuesday (April 11), policemen from the local police station were notified of a burglary in a single-family house in the Piaski commune. As she informed, the burglars stole over PLN 300,000 and gold jewelry.

They identified and detained the suspects, recovered some of the stolen property

– The next day, criminal detectives from Świdnica, with the support of policemen from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Lublin, found the trail of the burglars and detained them. They turned out to be two residents of Lublin aged 30 and 55 and a 35-year-old from the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, Domaradzka reported.

The men were detained in the Garwolin and Puławy poviats when they were driving cars. – One of the vehicles was used by them the day before to commit a crime. During the arrest, the police officers recovered a large part of the stolen property, the policewoman described.

The men were charged with burglary. They will spend the next three months – by court decision – in custody.

A 35-year-old resident of the commune was also arrested in connection with the case Germanywho will be responsible for receiving receipts because he accepted the money from this theft, the policewoman said. The prosecutor’s office placed him under surveillance.

Burglary is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
