The police are investigating the circumstances of the tragic accident at a railway crossing in Piła. On Tuesday noon, a car collided with a train there. Unfortunately, the woman driving the car could not be saved.

A tragic accident at a guarded crossing in Piła (Greater Poland Voivodeship) on ul. Wawelska. According to the officer on duty at the provincial fire brigade, shortly after 12 p.m. a Renault collided with a Piła-Bydgoszcz train. A woman was traveling in the car. Firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to free her. Unfortunately, despite resuscitation, the woman did not survive.

– We will explain the circumstances of the incident. There are no barriers at this crossing, but there are signs and traffic lights. We know that this signal was working at the time of the incident. The officers are on site and carry out activities also under the supervision of the prosecutor, says Sgt. pcs. Wojciech Zeszot, spokesman for the Piła police.

It is known that nothing happened to the train's passengers and the driver. Replacement transport for approximately 50 passengers was sent to the scene of the incident.
