A man was hit and killed on the service road. The perpetrator drove away and an alarm was announced in the Ostróda police. The suspect was arrested.

On Monday, December 25, after 8 p.m., the officer on duty of the Ostróda police unit was notified that a man had been hit near the town of Piławki in the Miłomłyn commune, on the service road along the S7 expressway.

Witnesses reported that he was unconscious but had vital signs. Resuscitation measures were initiated. Unfortunately, the man could not be saved. He did not have any identification document with him.

The police have already established the identity of the accident victim, a 37-year-old resident of the Zalewo commune.

He was charged with two charges: unintentionally causing a fatal accident and failing to provide assistance to a person who was in a situation posing an immediate threat of loss of life.

He faces five to 20 years in prison.
