Pilot dies after ‘experimental homebuilt’ airplane crashes in California | US Information

The pilot of a “homebuilt” airplane has died after the plane crashed shortly after take-off from an airport in California.

The one-engine airplane crashed on a road close to Corona Municipal Airport simply earlier than noon on Saturday, native authorities stated.

It was described by the Nationwide Transportation Security Board (NTSB) as a Vans RV-8 “experimental homebuilt” plane.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated in an announcement: “A normal aviation plane crashed shortly after departure from Corona Municipal Airport in California.

“Solely the pilot was on board. The kind of plane is unknown at the moment.”

The crash triggered a vegetation hearth, which hearth crews had been in a position to put out shortly, the Corona Fireplace Division stated.

It was the hearth that first drew consideration to the airplane crash.

Footage of the aftermath shared by NBC Los Angeles reveals wreckage lower than a mile from the airport.
