A British F35 jet from the UK’s flagship plane provider has crashed into the Mediterranean whereas flying and the pilot has ejected within the first such incident to influence HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Hostile motion shouldn’t be thought to have been concerned.

An investigation will possible concentrate on potential technical or human error.

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson stated: “A British F35 pilot from HMS Queen Elizabeth ejected throughout routine flying operations within the Mediterranean this morning.

“The pilot has been safely returned to the ship and an investigation has begun, so it could be inappropriate to remark additional presently.”

The £100m next-generation RAF F35 jet is regarded as within the sea and has but to be recovered.

Eight British F35 jets are on the provider, together with 10 American F35s. They’re the B variant of the Lockheed Martin jet, which may take off at a brief distance and land on the provider.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is returning to the UK after greater than seven months at sea on a maiden voyage to the Far East and again.
