Piotr Pogonowski, former head of the Internal Security Agency, was detained by the services and will be taken to a meeting of the Pegasus committee – the Police Headquarters announced on Monday morning.
Piotr Pogonowski did not appear at the meetings of the Pegasus committee three times, citing the September ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal headed by Julia Przyłębska, which found the work of the committee unconstitutional. After seeking the opinion of legal experts, the committee concluded that the situation qualifies for the use of coercive measures in the form of forcibly bringing in a witness. At the end of November, the Warsaw court agreed to the motion submitted by this body.
