A lifeguard who appeared within the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean film has died after being attacked by a shark off Oahu in Hawaii.

Tamayo Perry, 49, who has additionally starred in Charlie’s Angels 2 and Blue Crush, was attacked close to Goat Island on Sunday afternoon, Honolulu’s emergency providers mentioned.

The incident was reported by a caller who mentioned they’d seen a person affected by what seemed to be shark bites.

Emergency providers arrived on the scene on Malaekahana Seashore simply earlier than 1pm native time.

Rescuers introduced Mr Perry – an Ocean Security lifeguard and browsing teacher – to shore by jet ski and paramedics assisted with the dying pronouncement, Shayne Enright, of the Honolulu Emergency Companies Division, mentioned.

Mr Perry, who labored as a lifeguard on the North Shore, started his profession with the Ocean Security division in July 2016, Mr Enright mentioned.

He appeared in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Ocean Security personnel posted shark warnings within the space following the assault.

Appearing Honolulu Ocean Security chief Kurt Lager mentioned Mr Perry was “a lifeguard liked by all”.

“He is well-known on the North Shore. He is an expert surfer identified worldwide,” Mr Lager mentioned.

“Tamayo’s persona was infectious and as a lot as folks liked him, he liked everybody else extra.”

“Tamayo was a legendary waterman and extremely revered,” Honolulu mayor Rick Blangiardi mentioned, calling Mr Perry’s dying “a tragic loss”.
