Neither when I was a member of the management board of Orlen, or later the president of PGNiG, I never had a situation where anyone forced me to transfer money to a political party – said Grażyna Piotrowska, manager, investor and former CEO of PGNiG in TVN24 -Oil. – Anyway, I have never transferred a single zloty to any political party – she noted.

At the end of last year, tvn24.pl journalist Grzegorz Łakomski and Dariusz Kubik from “Czarno na Białe” analyzed the financing of the election campaigns of PiS candidates in the last elections to the European Parliament. They found that a significant part of these campaigns was financed by persons holding managerial positions in government-dependent companies and state institutions dependent on PiS. The results of the journalistic investigation can be seen in reports “In company with PiS. Parakampania” and “In partnership with PiS. Mine of interests”.

From the list published in February on the Law and Justice website it appears that successive managers of state-owned companies made payments to the PiS account in February. These are payments in the amount of PLN 25,000 and PLN 20,000. This year, amounts exceeding PLN 10,000, which should be included in the register, were credited to the account of the ruling party by eleven people associated with the authorities of state-owned companies.

Grażyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, former president of the management board, commented on the case on Friday in the “One for One” program on TVN24 PGNiG in 2012-2013 and a former member of the management board for sales at PKN Orlen in 2011-2012.

“I’ve never had anyone force me”

Asked if she remembers being on the board of a state-owned company being forced to transfer money to a political party, she replied: – No, it was never like that.

– Neither when I was a member of the management board of Orlen, or later the president of PGNiG. I have never had a situation where anyone forced me, and I have never transferred a single zloty to any political party – she emphasized.

She said many managers who come to SOEs from the private sector later come back. – If you look at those who were, they are all like me in foreign companies, or they still function very high in business and do not disappear from it – she said.

According to her, “these private sector managers have never paid off for the party.” – Anyone who wants to stay in the private sector and is not a political manager did not pay off the party. Of course, you can have your sympathies, you can support someone, each of us has political views, but our interest and the most important thing that every manager, president, board member faces is protecting the interest of shareholders and thinking about employees and the development of the company. The policy is to support this process, she noted.

– I do not know among my friends and acquaintances, except for the private sector, that they act in this way – she assured. In her opinion, “this would be a form of paying off some obligation, repaying for the position”. – We were selected by world-renowned headhunters for such positions – she added.
