Law and Justice MP Krzysztof Szczucki announced on Wednesday that he had waived his immunity. Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar submitted a request to waive Szczucki's immunity in December last year. The collected evidence shows that Szczucki, former president of the Government Legislation Center, made changes to the organizational structure of this institution and established a department in which he was to employ people outside the competition.
“According to my earlier announcement, I submitted yesterday (Tuesday – editor) to the secretariat of the Speaker of the Sejm a declaration on waiving my immunity regarding the request of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw,” Krzysztof Szczucki said on Wednesday morning.
“The case is purely political in nature. No crime has occurred in my activities. If the conduct of state authorities is fair, it will show that the Government Legislation Center was managed by me in accordance with the highest standards,” he added.
Three conclusions
Attorney General Adam Bodnar in December last year sent motions to the Sejm to waive the immunity of MPs Krzysztof Szczucki i Jan Krzysztof Ardanowskiand also to the European Parliament regarding the lifting of the immunity of MEP Daniel Obajtek.

The spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General, Anna Adamiak, explained at that time that the collected evidence shows that Szczucki, when he was the president of the Government Legislation Center, made changes to the organizational structure of this institution by order and established a department in which he employed people outside the competition.
