According to the journalists of “Gazeta Wyborcza”, people associated with Law and Justice were also under surveillance using Pegasus. “GW” mentions, among others, the former spokesman of the party, Adam Hofman, and the former Minister of the Treasury, Dawid Jackiewicz.

– The first Pegasus contract included 40 licenses to be used over three years. Then, in the fall of 2020, it was extended, but I do not know if it was for the same number – the informant who at the turn of 2017 and 2018 cooperated with the Warsaw-based Matic company told Gazeta Wyborcza.

As explained, “she brokered the transaction between the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Israeli company NSO Group, which sold the Polish services a smartphone spy system.” As “GW” wrote, Matic is a company founded by people working in the Polish People’s Republic for the militia and the Security Service.

“Wyborcza”, citing its interlocutor, stated that at the turn of 2017 and 2018, the CBA started working with Pegasus, it was from the former PiS people that “Adam Hofman went first”. The daily reports that “the investigation of Hofman and his friends by the CBA began in 2016, before the purchase of Pegasus.”
