Whether they will be representatives of the People’s Party or the Civic Coalition – everyone has the right to use our national sanctuary and also has the right to express their views there – said MP Marek Ast, commenting on the statement of the Jasna Góra spokesman on the recent pilgrimage of Radio Maryja with the participation of politicians from the camp ruling. – I do not believe in the statement of the Pauline Fathers, because the alliance of the throne and the altar when it comes to PiS and the Catholic Church has been known for years – said Krzysztof Gawkowski, head of the Left club.

On Sunday, Jasna Góra in Częstochowa hosted the 32nd Pilgrimage of the Radio Maryja Family. The central point of the meeting was the holy mass presided over by Archbishop. Marek Jędraszewski, Metropolitan of Krakow. It was attended by, among others, deputy prime minister, president of PiS Jaroslaw KaczynskiMinister of National Defence Mariusz BlaszczakMinister of Education and Science Przemyslaw CzarnekFamily Minister Marlena Maląg and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin. Politicians during the mass PISholding hands, they sang the religious song “Let us be one”.

IN statement to the mediaspokesman for Jasna Góra, Father Michał Bortnik, wrote that “this event and its social reception show that the organizers of religious meetings and we, as the hosts of this place, must be even more sensitive not to involve the authority of Jasna Góra for earthly, short-term goals.” .

Ast: everyone has the right to enjoy our national sanctuary

– We are here and now, various ceremonies are held at Jasna Góra and simply different people, different environments come there with pilgrimages, so I don’t see a big problem here – commented MP Marek Ast.

In his opinion, “whether they are representatives of the People’s Party or the Civic Coalition – everyone has the right to use our national sanctuary and also has the right, in accordance with the freedom of expression, to express their views there as well.”

When asked about Kaczyński’s speech, who spoke, among other things, about “plans to deprive us of our sovereignty”, Ast assessed that “the president is a secular person and can say such things”. – If it was said by clergymen, maybe it could be questioned, but we are talking about a lay person here – he added.

Gawkowski: the alliance of the throne and the altar has been known for years

The head of the Left parliamentary club, Krzysztof Gawkowski, said that “he does not believe in the statement of the Pauline Fathers, because the alliance of the throne and the altar when it comes to PiS and the Catholic Church has been known for years.” – The fact that PiS politicians appear at Jasna Góra, but also in other places where we have mass celebrations organized by the Church, is a standard – he said.

“It’s going to be the same soon.” On August 15, there will be another event at Jasna Góra, where politicians from Law and Justice are to be present, and they are certainly invited, he noted.

“Today, we should be apologizing, not making statements. There is no question of any sensitivity, because there is a provision in the constitution – the separation of state and church. Neither PiS nor the Church respects him, he added.
