This is pure racism. This is also (…) an infringement of personal rights. I hope that those people who are victims of such political activities will have their own representatives who will deal with this matter – said Dr. Hanna Machińska, former deputy Ombudsman, about photos showing black people published by Sovereign Poland and PiS politicians in networks. At the same time, they criticize the government's migration policy.

Dr. Hanna Machińska from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, former deputy of the Commissioner for Human Rights, commented in “Fakty po Faktach” on the publication of photos of black people residing in Poland by right-wing politicians.

Dr. Machińska: these actions are intended to cause fear and stigmatization

– These are unacceptable actions. These are actions aimed at causing fear and stigmatizing these people. (…) If we consider that these are actions that are also aimed at insulting these people, this is the provision of the penal code: Whoever insults people, whoever causes such racist sentiments, should be held responsible – said the guest of “Fakty po Faktach”.

Dr. Machińska said it was “pure racism”. – This is also a matter of liability under civil law, i.e. use of the image, infringement of personal rights. I hope that those who are victims of such political activities will have their representatives who will deal with this matter, she added.

– People are terrified because since 2015 (…) there has been a narrative against migrants. They said that a wave would flood us and that they would rape us. It is the language of hate, which very often takes the form of hateful acts, said Dr. Machińska.

When asked why society should “express opposition to such behavior”, the guest of “Fakty po Faktach” said that “this is an incredibly destructive action”. – Otherness destroys our concept of peace and comfort, and politicians perfectly sense our emotions – said the former deputy Ombudsman.
