I perceived it as a bit of a prank, probably unintentional, on the Prime Minister’s nose, because it is rare for a Chancellor to call the party leader, who, moreover, responds in a rather harsh manner – said the Speaker of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki, in “Fakty po Faktach”, referring to Monday’s election spot for Law and Justice.
Monday’s PiS election spot caused an avalanche of comments on the Internet. He appears in it alone Jaroslaw Kaczynskiand in the scenario are the German Chancellor, retirement age and Donald Tusk. The material did not escape the attention of Internet users, satirical portals and opposition politicians, who also responded to it in the form of a video.
On Wednesday, the president of PiS in Elbląg commented on this issue. – Even though I’m used to various surprises, something completely unusual happens to me. Well, they tell me that about half, at least half of the PO or KO club, are calling me, he said.
– I don’t have my phone with me because it fills my pockets, but I don’t see it there. But that’s what they tell me. On the other hand, ladies and gentlemen, they have been shouting about dictatorship for eight years, and now they are constantly shouting at me. I don’t understand them at all, but it’s hard to understand them, he said. – Well, ladies and gentlemen, it’s just a joke after a very successful spot with my cat, and also with me – he added.
Grodzki: a flick, probably unintentional, in the prime minister’s nose
This issue was addressed by the Speaker of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki, in Wednesday’s edition of “Fakty po Faktach”. – Mr. President doesn’t seem to have any experience with internet games. And on the Internet, as you know, it’s very easy to become a mocking meme. And that’s what happened with President Kaczyński’s speech, he said.
– However, few people paid attention to the fact that the chancellor should actually call the prime minister, perhaps the president, and not the party leader – Grodzki said on TVN24. – I perceived it as a bit of a jab, probably unintentional, on the Prime Minister’s nose, quite long, because it doesn’t happen that the Chancellor calls the party leader, who, moreover, responds in a rather rude way – he added.
Grodzki was also asked why he did not take advantage of the opportunities provided by the law and did not speak as the Speaker of the Senate in the speech. “I don’t rule out that something like that will happen,” he replied. – Soon? – Anita Werner asked. “Maybe,” he added.
Grodzki: the visa scandal will reach the highest levels of the current government
The Marshal of the Senate also referred in “Fakty po Faktach” to the visa scandal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. – This scandal is spreading more and more widely because it is an embarrassment – he said.
He also said that the prime minister could have known about it, “since Minister Ziobro says that they knew about it some time ago, they ordered an investigation, the CBA investigated it.” – Let me remind you that the Prime Minister chairs the College of Secret Services, so he should be informed. Only the prime minister seems to be involved in many other things than being prime ministers, Grodzki added.
The Speaker of the Senate also expressed the belief that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs knew about the scandal Zbigniew Rau. – Evidence of this is slowly emerging. Letters from organizations reporting such a problem. One of the former ambassadors, Mr. (Witold – ed.) Jurasz, also claims that he signaled this many times, so Deputy Minister Wawrzyk was sacrificed as a scapegoat, whom, let me remind you, the same party wanted to nominate the Ombudsman. And the Senate blocked it, he said.
– However, this scandal, I think, will reach the highest levels of the current government – he added. When asked if he would also go to the Prime Minister, he replied: “certainly.”
August 31, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki dismissed Piotr Wawrzyk from the position of Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As explained by the Ministry of Diplomacy, the reason for this decision was “the lack of satisfactory cooperation.”
At the same time, the Prosecutor’s Office and Central Anticorruption Bureau conduct investigations into irregularities in submitting visa applications. The opposition talks about corruption and claims that hundreds of thousands of visas issued are suspicious.
