PKP Cargo has filed a notice to the prosecutor's office regarding the case of former Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin

PKP Cargo announced in a current report that it has filed a notice to the prosecutor's office regarding suspicion of a crime committed by former Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin. It concerns coal transport.

“The Management Board of PKP CARGO SA in restructuring (“Company”, “PKP CARGO”) informs that today it filed a notification with the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw about a suspicion of committing a crime by Mr. Jacek Sasin, serving as Minister of State Assets in the years 2019-2023″ – we read in the company's current report.

According to the company, the suspicion of a crime concerns failure of the Minister of State Assets to fulfil the obligations incumbent on him. It would consist in the omission by the person led by Jacek Sasin MAP “concluded with PKP CARGO SA the necessary agreement related to the implementation of the order indicated in the decision of the Prime Minister (…) regarding the transport of coal purchased by the companies: PGE Paliwa Sp. z oo and Węglokoks SA in order to implement the above-mentioned Decision, thereby acting to the detriment of public and private interests”.

On July 25 this year, the District Court in Warsaw opened the restructuring proceedings of PKP Cargo, in which it decided to open the restructuring proceedings of the debtor – PKP Cargo. A day earlier, the management board of PKP Cargo decided to carry out group layoffs, covering up to 30% of employees, i.e. up to 4,142 employees in various professional groups.
