“American Idyll”

A drama based on one of Philip Roth’s best novels. Scottish actor Ewan McGregor is making his directorial debut. A terrorist attack takes place in a quiet American town. A bomb explodes in the post office building, one person is killed. The prime suspect is Merry (Dakota Fanning), a left-wing extremist with a stutter and a seemingly perfect girl from a perfect family. Main character “American Idyll” however, is her father Seymour (Ewan McGregor). Once a “golden boy”, champion of the school baseball team, and today a respected owner of a glove factory, together with his wife Dawn (Jennifer Connelly), a former Miss New Jersey, he must face the disappearance of his daughter and the crisis of his family.

The story of Aileen Wuornos (Charlize Theron), a prostitute who was sentenced to death in 2002 for the murder of six people, including a police officer. “monster” shows nine months of her life when she started killing her clients. Why? Aileen wants to bring justice to the world (her first client raped and tortured her). The second reason is his love for a young lesbian Selby (Christina Ricci). With the victims’ money and cars, the women are able to travel across America. An award-winning film about passing, which in 2019 at the Warsaw Film Festival took fourth place in the audience’s plebiscite. 15-year-old Milla (Eliza Scanlen), suffering from cancer, falls in love with Moses (Toby Wallace), a homeless and addicted drug dealer. She brings him home for dinner and introduces him to her parents. Although the story promises to be a tearful melodrama, v “Babyteeth” it is told with warm humour. Milla’s parents (Ben Mendelsohn and Essie Davis) allow their daughter to meet a drug addict, and this changes the life of the whole family. Because with the first kisses, a depressed teenager regains her energy and desire to live. He shows everyone around how to live when you have nothing left to lose.

“Butterfly Effect”

Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher) is a college student fascinated by memory research. In childhood, at the request of a psychiatrist, he kept a diary. Looking through it years later, he comes to the conclusion that many things would be good to correct. Travels back in time to fix mistakes. But the plan gets out of hand. “Butterfly Effect” reminds you that even the smallest event can lead to a catastrophe. Evan becomes increasingly entangled in the time spiral, and eventually the line between then and now begins to blur. In order for the viewer not to get lost in subsequent versions of reality, each is presented in a different color palette.
