Immediately after the accident, the driver's sobriety test was carried out. The man had 3.2 per mille of alcohol. He also has an active driving ban.
The District Prosecutor's Office in Pleszew initiated an investigation into the case road accident in Karmina (Greater Poland Voivodeship). On Monday, the police brought the driver who caused the accident for questioning.
In the case – according to the prosecutor – the necessary evidence was secured, and the autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday. – Only after its implementation will decisions be made regarding further preventive measures in the form of temporary arrest – said Meler.
The interrogation is ongoing. It is known that the police intend to apply for temporary arrest for the 26-year-old.
A 71-year-old woman has died
The tragedy occurred on Saturday at 4:46 p.m., at a pedestrian crossing near the school in Karmin. Initially, three people were reported to have been hit. Ultimately, it turned out that two women were injured. A 61-year-old woman was injured, a 71-year-old woman died.
The perpetrator first fled the scene, but then returned on foot. – He was arrested. It turned out to be a 26-year-old resident of the Dobrzyca commune. He was taken to the police station in Pleszew, where a breath test was performed, which showed 3.2 per mille of alcohol – said Asp. staff. The man also has an active driving ban.
