Firefighters fought a fire that broke out in Płonki (Lubelskie Voivodeship) in one of the halls of a plant producing plastic packaging. The fire also moved to the second hall. And although it was quickly brought under control, firefighters predict that the losses will be very large. The initial cause is a short circuit in the electrical system.

We got the call at 11:45. 32 firefighters from the PSP and the surrounding TSO were sent to the site. 12 fire engines arrived – says senior captain Konrad Wójcik from the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Puławy.

On Monday (May 1), in the village of Płonki, two production halls at the plant producing plastic packaging were on fire.

The fire started in one hall and spread to the other. Although it was quickly brought under control and the fire did not cover the roofs of both buildings, the losses will probably be very large, because some of the machines and some of the finished products were burned, explains the firefighter.
