The woman was arrested thanks to the reaction of witnesses. She was traveling on the national “7” train near Płońsk. She was concerned about a car entering the opposite lane. It turned out that she was drunk. Moreover, she wasn't traveling alone.

Commissioner Kinga Drężek-Zmysłowska, spokeswoman for the Płońsk police, announced on Thursday that the detention of a 43-year-old woman transporting her 10-year-old son in a Toyota took place a day earlier “on the busy route No. 7” following information provided by bystanders.

The report showed that the car was probably driven by a drunk person who clearly had problems controlling it. “The car periodically drove into the adjacent lane, causing dangerous situations and posing a threat to other road users,” Drężek-Zmysłowska explained. After the driver was detained, it turned out that she was a Russian citizen.

“The police immediately smelled alcohol on the woman's breath. A sobriety test showed 1.4 per mille in her body,” emphasized Comm. Drężek-Zmysłowska. She added that the officers detained the 43-year-old's driving license and her car was towed to a guarded parking lot.

“The drunk woman, permanently registered in Poland, and her 10-year-old son were handed over to the care of a person indicated by her,” added the spokeswoman for the Płońsk police.

According to applicable regulations, the 43-year-old faces up to three years in prison for driving under the influence of alcohol. A woman may also be responsible for improperly caring for her child and exposing it to danger.
