On one of the farms near Płońsk (Masovian Voivodeship), two children were poisoned by the fumes of a highly toxic agent, probably used to combat rodents. The children, siblings, were taken to a hospital in Warsaw. The police were then notified about the incident. The case has already been referred to the prosecutor's office.

According to the police spokeswoman in Płońsk, Commissioner Kinga Drężek-Zmysłowska, the report about the poisoning of two children was received after the siblings had already been transported to a hospital in Warsaw.

Up to three years in prison

– Since it may be a case of poisoning with an agent used to combat rodents, the incident was initially classified as relating to Art. 160 of the Penal Code, which states that anyone who exposes a person to a direct threat of loss of life or serious bodily injury shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment of up to three years – said Kom. Drężek-Zmysłowska.

The spokeswoman for the Płońsk police noted that the materials in the case had already been forwarded to the local district prosecutor's office, which would decide whether an investigation would be initiated. It cannot be ruled out that the initial classification of the event may change.

He wanted to fight the voles

As reported by the portal plonskwsieci.pl, citing the statement of the head of the Płońsk district prosecutor's office, Ewa Ambroziak, the owner of the farm, wanting to combat voles, used a drug in the form of tablets, which he buried in the ground in two places. When his children, son and daughter, felt bad, they were taken to a hospital in Warsaw.

The children were probably poisoned by the gas produced by the rodenticide. “They are in a serious condition,” said prosecutor Ambroziak, quoted by the Płońsk portal.
